HONEST-PREPS Database Locked

Data collections and entries in eCRF stopped on 1st of June 2022 after which the data was cleaned. Local study teams participated well during the data cleaning process by responding to the queries in a timely manner and completing any missing data. The database lock for HONEST-PREPS study was achieved on August 14th 2022.

The Close Out process of the 11 active sites is ongoing. Four Close Out Visits have been done so far and one site has already been closed. The remaining COVs will be carried out throughout the summer.

Continuing in ECRAID-Base

Eight sites that performed well in HONEST-PREPS study are currently starting up in ECRAID-Base Perpetual Observational Study into Ventilator Associated Pneumonia (POS-VAP) with the prospect of joining future Randomized Controlled Trials. The team at University Hospital of Limoges is executing the POS-VAP study and will continue the collaboration with several HONEST-PREPS sites.

About HONEST-PREPS

HOspital NEtwork STudy – Preparation for a Randomized Evaluation of anti-Pneumonia Strategies (HONEST-PREPS) is a prospective, observational, multicenter cohort study. The study population are the patients admitted to an intensive care unit (ICU) at risk for hospital acquired and ventilator associated pneumonia (HAP/VAP).

The aim of the HONEST-PREPS is to set up an infrastructure to prospectively enroll patients at risks of HAP/VAP in the ICU. Collected data will be used to inform future diagnostic, preventative and therapeutic trials. In addition to capturing HAP/VAP episodes in a timely manner, HONEST-PREPS will determine the incidence, microbiological etiology (including antibiotic resistance), management and outcome of HAP/VAP in the ICU.
