COMBACTE at ECCMID 2023
Next month, the 33rd edition of the European Congress of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ECCMID) will take place in Copenhagen. The conference comprehends many symposia, oral sessions, workshops, and meet-the-expert sessions. ECCMID is recognized by academia and the industry as the largest European congress for the presentation, discussion, and networking of research in the field of clinical microbiology, infectious diseases, and infection control.
COMBACTE at ECCMID
ECCMID April 15-18 2023 will be the last edition COMBACTE will attend. You can find us at exhibition hall E. The booth will be welcoming visitors throughout the duration of the congress to share and discuss work with colleagues and fellow investigators or learn more information about related projects and the networks.
Furthermore, we are proud to share the abstract of Thomas van der Schalk was accepted for an oral presentation. You can listen to Thomas’ presentation at ECCMID on April 16th at 14:45. In session Novel resistance mechanisms in Hall L: Collateral fitness and pathogenicity effects on Pseudomonas aeruginosa after antibiotic exposure.
Ecraid
COMBACTE will be at ECCMID as part of the Ecraid booth. Make sure to visit us, meet the teams, share and discuss your work, and ask any questions you might have about participation in Ecraid trials or becoming part of the Ecraid network.
COMBACTE’s hospital and laboratory networks, CLIN-Net and LAB-Net, represent the vital foundation on which COMBACTE and non-COMBACTE clinical trials have been performed over the years. These networks continue their work within Ecraid (European Clinical Research Alliance on Infectious Diseases), as it builds a sustainable and joint European movement against infectious diseases.

10 years of COMBACTE (at ECCMID)
In the ten years of COMBACTE, a great deal of milestones has been reached. Our network currently counts 1,221 hospitals and 925 laboratories. A great load of results from the consortium have also been put forth, with more than 47,000 patients enrolled in our studies.
At ECCMID 2019, a COMBACTE-CDI poster (”Detection of Clostridium difficile infection across whole healthcare economies in Europe: results from COMBACTE-CDI”; Davies et al.) was top-rated poster. Read more about this, other COMBACTE’s highlights & find photos from the previous ECCMIDs here.
