Antibiotics in Critical Care

This year Lennie Derde will be presenting her expertise on Antibiotics in Critical Care. Her presentation ‘Antibiotics in critical care – From septic shock to stewardship: Domain 1- Initial choice of antibiotics in sepsis’ takes place Monday, October 4, 08:45 – 09:45.

Lennie Derde is intensivist and researcher at the UMC Utrecht and coordinating the REMAP-CAP study. This study has the broad objective to, over time, determine and continuously update the optimal set of treatments for community acquired pneumonia and COVID-19. It is a global network of leading experts, institutions and research networks.

At the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, REMAP-CAP showed their capability to quickly shift to the pandemic research mode. The trial enrolled over 8000 patients with COVID-19. COMBACTE’s CLIN-Net is performing the site selection for REMAP-CAP in Europe. REMAP-CAP is a clinical trial within the ECRAID-Base project. Read more on REMAP-CAP.
