Study Update ANTICIPATE – 500 Patients Enrolled!

A great milestone was reached for COMBACTE-NET’s ANTICIPATE study. The trial registered 500 patients to date!

Out of the 34 sites, 24 sites are actively recruiting. As part of the contingency plan, 4 new sites have been initiated: Dr. Herghea’s site in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, Prof. Launay’s site in Paris, France, Dr. Silling’s site in Aachen, Germany, and Prof. Witzke’s site in Essen, Germany. The last two sites’ Ethics Approval is still to follow.

Congratulations to our top enrollers this month:

1. Oncology Institute Ion Chiricuta in Cluj-Napoca, Romania: 27 patients
2. Hospital Universitario Reina Sofia in Cordoba, Spain: 20 patients
3. Hospital Universitario Virgen Macarena in Seville, Spain: 19 patients

ANTICIPATE is an observational, epidemiological study involving hospitalized patients undergoing oral or intravenous broad-spectrum antibiotics treatments. The study aims to determine the incidence of Clostridium difficile infections and to better prevent this severe pathology. It is being conducted in close collaboration with Da Volterra.
